Volunteering Opportunities with the Trust

Typically our volunteering opportunities centre around the three main interest areas:

  • Arts and Culture
  • Environment
  • Heritage

Some of the opportunities are one-off while some are repeated monthly, annually or more irregularly so hopefully there will be something to suit the time you have available and your personal interests.

Arts & Culture    

Activity Involves Frequency
Community Cinema tickets / set up / learn to use projector etc. Take the cinema into the community eg care homes Monthly
World Book Night help to plan / help on the night to guide people / refreshments / setting up Annual plus planning meetings
Concerts, Theatre Performances tickets / set up / refreshments occasional
Event Publicity leaflet, poster production and distribution, social media occasional

Heritage

Activity Involves Frequency
Northumbrian Gathering stewarding, minute taking, fundraising annual plus planning meetings
Morpeth Antiquarian Society cataloguing, research & preparation of exhibitions, interviewing & recording oral history, website maintenance ongoing
Heritage Open Days publicity, stewarding annual plus planning meetings

Environment

Activity Involves Frequency
Bluebell Woods maintaining paths

ongoing

Signage auditing, maintenance, planning & design regular quarterly meetings
Flood Defence support for Flood Action Group – flood warden or ‘flood buddy’ regular meetings, emergency call-out for Flood Warnings
Litter Picking associated with Morpeth In Bloom and throughout the year regular routine sessions
Planting trees / plants. Vegetation clearance from public paths seasonal
